A rather windy session spent at the bizarre station of Knockholt on the South Eastern Mainline where we see plenty of services from Southeastern.

My first impression of this station is that it really isn't necessary, especially as you have a station either side of this about 2 miles apart! Plus you've got a garbage dump right by the station when you get off the train.

This station only exists because of a deal struck between local councillors and the South Eastern Railway back in 1876, they would only build and open the station should a sum of £3000 be raised to help support the project. In today's money that's roughly £300,000!!

Between the years of 1887 and 1915 there used to be a bus service connecting the village to the railway station.

Beyond that there really isn't much to tell about this station, other than it has to be one of the most depressing places I've ever filmed at!

My next station will be Chelsfield just up the line. After that we hit the big station of Orpington.
