Updated version of his trauma✨
(probably gonna be really long and triggering so suit yourself or leave)

Rin is originally from Snezhnaya, and was called Kusma. Even as a small kid, he adored the strange soldiers on the street. He'd use his own little wooden sword and play fight against his parents. When he turned 6, he was "invited" to a program which had the plans to introduce the "soldier life" to children at a young age, and inspire them to become soldiers. This turned out to be false. This "program" would take these children and force them into serious danger, such as arena fighting against adult opponents to find a way to harvest Visions from these subjects, life threatening surgeries, irreversible damage through manifesting cores, and different types of torture. These kids were kept in smal cages and cells, based on their effort. The kids in the network were quick to become allies, and would try to help each other out. The weakest of them was cared for, while the strongest took extra turns to buy time for the others. Kusma's time here left unimaginable scars on his innocence. Barely 6 years after, he managed to escape during a big fire, however as the only survivor. 12 years old, he had already lost his family, and now his newfound one. As the strongest of all the children, he bore an extreme survivors guilt, alongside Rin. On the night we escaped, and he realized that everyone else was gone, his mind instinctively split in 2, leaving him with Rin, and a blurry image of himself. Rin, who seemed to become a rage obsessed time bomb, resonated and became in control of his body, pushing Kusma to a sort of hibernation to shield him from potential danger and leading him to forget his own identity. This was the death a lost child, and the birth of the rumor known as the "frost warrior". In the attempt to release his rage, Rin ultimately began blaming the divine for what happened to him, however deep inside, he's convinced himself that it was his fault.

Rin's work with the Fatui consisted of different stealth missions. Some would be simple ones like protecting cargo, while others were specifically targeted people who had unfinished business with the Fatui. Scaramouche always insisted on directly giving him orders, as way to keep him in the shadow from the rest of the Fatui. (fx. Childe knows of Rin, but all he knows is that he exists)

With the payment he received from Scaramouche, Rin began rebuilding the burned facility in the hopes of returning his newfound territory back to its former glory. Rin didn't add any adjustments or changes, but rebuilt it in the exact way it was before. As a form of nostalgia, he named it the "Theater of Doom". It was what one of the oldest children had called it back in his time as a nameless test subject. "A stage on which paid actors reel in the curious audience and take them behind the curtains for the real show". Lozoroth had their name been. After finishing his project of rebuilding it, he began guarding it intensely. He scared people away on purpose, keeping them out of HIS home. It was like a cat chasing a mouse, except he was both. While Rin was the cat, Kusma served as the mouse. Whenever he bubbled up to the surface of consciousness, the facility would only trap him in the past once again.

The rumor about the "frost warrior" was rather short-lived, as the Qixing quickly confirmed that there was no threat to Liyue up until their Snezhnayan border, however, that doesn't mean it wasn't true. Out of spite, Rin lurks around that border. Sometimes, he dares cross over and take a certain adeptus' attention. It has led him into trouble almost every time, but with his condition, it didn't matter where he was to fall. His existence was a dishonor to his original name anyways.

Rin is very hard on himself. While the core was a part of him, he could barely eat or sleep, and he refused to better that after getting rid of it. The core depleted most of his strength and health over a long course of time. It was the odds he had to survive against. A barely living body in desperate need of medical attention, against a life-draining mechanism next to his heart which would end him if he dared to anything against it. There was no way of winning, but there was a way of stalling it. Rin continued to try and oppose the frozen core by burning himself, or by pushing himself in terms of combat. This would be enough to buy him time to give him an honorable death against the one opponent he could never win against. A divinity. Of course, this would be his demise which Kusma was deeply afraid of, but Rin didn't care. It would set them free, alongside the ghosts of his past which had been haunting him ever since he left the facility. He thought it would be enough for him to be remembered. It was, but it was not his end. This was just the first of many plays, on the stage called life. He was one of many puppets, who's strings had been cut and tied back together.
