Tribes Ascend-closed beta gameplay
2Apparently it was decided some where that this was going to be a massive FPS related weekend for betas. Tribes, Blacklight Retribution and Hedone were all available this weekend. Hedone was only for a brief few hours though.
I played a TINY bit of Tribes 2 a very long time ago. I don't remember too much about the game but I know the Tribes series has a loyal following. I decided I'd give this beta a bit of a try.
What can I say? It's a Tribes game. You can play as several different classes with only 2 available at the start. They are the ranger and soldier. Additional classes are unlocked via spending tokens or gold. Xp earned can be put into upgrading some skills for that class or put into a shared pool where it can be used by other classes.
The game seems like it could be fun if you've enjoyed the Tribes games in the past. If you like your FPS games with a bit of spice and being more than just a standard run and gun, this might be the game for you.
