Triple amputee war hero insult claim 02.11.11
It is reported an investigation is underway into allegations that triple amputee war hero Tom Neathway was insulted by a Sergeant Major. It is claimed the officer said: "You're not much of a Paratrooper anymore, are you?" Since making an official complaint of harassment over the alleged remark, LCpl Tom Neathway of 2 Para has been moved from RAF Brize Norton to Colchester. It means the 28-year-old, who lost both legs and his left arm in an IED explosion, must make a 180-mile round trip to return to his specially adapted home at RAF Brize Norton, Oxon, at weekends. The Sun newspaper says Tom Neathway confirmed he had complained of bullying and harassment but could not comment further. An Army spokesman said the complaint "is being thoroughly investigated in accordance with procedures".
