If you destroy a mech cluster, make sure to leave one turret alive so the cluster stays active. Then, surround that turret with a wall—the turret won’t shoot it down.
If you destroy the main mech cluster buildings or all turrets, the shields will be permanently shut down.
Next, wall off the low shield and high shield, if the cluster has them. The low shield blocks all ground-level fire, while the high shield blocks aerial attacks.
If you move your base or colonists into this spot, you’ll have an indestructible shield barrier—everything except for mechanoids and EMPs will be blocked. Just don’t let enemies inside the barrier.
Even doomsday rockets and antigrain warheads can’t penetrate this defense.
Both shields have a cooldown: they recharge every 10 days and remain down for 1 day—so time your defenses wisely.
