Just got the Steam controller. Very cool controller that allows mouse and keyboard only games to be played on a gamepad. The controller has touch pads that replace one of the analogs and other functions. Very interesting but cant aim for shit with this controller. I keep over-steering my movement and super hard to line up any shots. Huge learning curve and theres ALOT of things to tweak to try to dial it in, Im sure. One big issue I have is that I cannot test out any tweaks I make, until I enter the game, exit back out, tweak something again, re-enter, rinse and repeat. Can barely play Crysis Warhead, but maybe I will get better with the controller with practice. Its a very different feel. I tried a point n click adventure game that I beat too. Seems like it would work perfectly for Real Time Strategy games, Point N Click adventures and alot of PC exclusive shit that I usually dont mess with. So I think I will atleast use it for those types of games. Maybe at my desk when I replace my monitor. Those seem like good desk games. I almost never use a keyboard or mouse to play games so I will probably find some creative uses for the controller. Might be very cool for trackball games on MAME or light gun shooters that use a mouse to replace the lightgun.
If anyone has any setting reccomendations or tips for using this controller better, let me know. I'm interested in learning more about it.
