Trying Out The Wolf of Derevnya (Playthrough Part 1)
1Every now and then, I enjoy visual novels and text-based adventures. In particular, I really enjoyed Dead Frontier: Outbreak, Telltale's The Walking Dead, and Ten Dates. Granted some of these are more cinematic, their format is still very similar to The Wolf of Derevnya.
The Wolf of Derevnya has no cinematic cutscenes, voice acting, or character models. What it has, instead, are gloomy yet artistic illustrations of characters and locations being described in the story.
It might be a challenge to get into for those who want something more interactive, but I enjoyed Wolf of Derevnya for what it is. The story and characters are highly intriguing, albeit a bit hard to pronounce since they reference Russian (or at least Eastern European) names.
