Trying VS Secret Games (Part 1) [Evercade #68]

Just because I'm done with trying all the cartridges doesn't mean I'm done with trying all the games! Because it's time for the secret ones.
The 'secret' games basically amount to another collection anyway. xD
KUBO 1 is so short! After playing it, I looked it up and KUBO 1&2 were demo projects before the full KUBO 3, so it kinda makes sense. And as a bonus, it's alright! They only make you want more, though. ;)
Hummingz is...a centipede clone. It's not bad...but it's just centipede. The powerups and the bosses are cool, I'll give it that. But it's not really that exciting...
Fairy Fire, on the other hand, is more interesting! Though the art style clashes with the Evercade. It did with Hummingz too, but it's much mor epronounced here. Graphics aside, it's a competent game. The upgrade system is cool as you choose what would help you more earlier on depending on what you feel is best for *you*. It's alright.
And Maniac Square Proto...because it's not available on the handheld (because it needs the L2/R2 buttons to activate), I did it here rather than in the Gaelco 2 videos. And it's great, just like the final release.
I like the Proto's system with the more blocks (question mark and the steel) and no time limit, but I like how the final does it with visuals and music and how your board continues between 'levels'. These differences make them both their own unique thing, in my opinion, and not just an 'early' version but more of a 'sequel' like Chain Reaction/Magical Drop 2.
And that's it for the first half of secret games. These are kind of all over the place and it's funny! :P
