TuesdayTryout - EP02 - The Little Acre
This is the second instalment of a (hopefully) popular series of trying new games every week.
The Little Acre had lots of good reviews and ratings so I figured I might as well give it a go as it's another small production game.
I didn't know much about it really other than the synopsis that it was an adventure game set in the 1950s in Ireland and characters go to another strange world on an adventure.
It turned out to be a fairly short game and I completed it within the 2 hour window I'd set for the stream. This is no bad thing, it's a very sweet, fun and entertaining game to play. The story isn't complicated and neither is the gameplay...ok so I struggled initially but I could have sworn I'd tried the solution before I checked the hints. I only used the hints for the one early puzzle and the rest I did easily enough myself.
I presume it's aimed at a younger audience but I enjoyed it all the same and liked the puzzles. I'd say it was well worth the time to play and stream it and people should pick it up if they fancy a sweet little game to play.
Next week we'll have a different game being tested out. If the game goes well it'll also be a 2 hour stream but there is potential for any title to not be fun to play or maybe to watch. We'll see how it goes though and I think this is a series I'd like to continue doing, showing other people new games while I experience them.
