Review:
I heard a lot of good things about Tunic, especially since it was like a Zelda game, which is my favourite game series. There were a few warnings about difficulty and I thought, since the comparison was so much about old style Zelda’s, they were referring to Zelda 1 difficulty. It was hard but that difficulty is fine by me. I know where I stand with old game difficulty. Especially with more forgiving, modern checkpoints. That didn’t worry me. I had a great time exploring the island and thought that the difficulty was tough but fair and I didn’t struggle too much – until I got to the first boss. It was a massive difficulty spike. It took me by surprise but I think I was kind of overpowered as I had a move which I wasn’t supposed to have yet because I went a more difficult path than I was supposed to go earlier on and got more powered up and the ‘hook shot’ move which I could pull it towards me and wail on it. So, I did this one quite quickly.
