Lost in Fantaland is an Indie, Isometric Turn Based Tactics RPG RogueLike with Pixel Graphics and Procedural Generation, packing a Final Fantasy Tactics like look, feel, and color palette into a fun boardgame aesthetic. Cool!
Differing from Final Fantasy Tactics, the actions are driven by both action points, and cards, which you draw per turn, adding some spice and swing to how the battles can go, as you never completely know when certain cards will come up, only the odds.
This adds a deck building element to the turn-based tactics, and makes up a bit of the character customization present in Lost in Fantaland.
There are 3 main classes to choose: The Warrior, The Mage, and The Trickster, with subclasses within each, adding to the uniqueness offered each run.
There is an FTL or Slay the Spire type map to adventure through, though as of yet, no one is chasing you, and you can double back to visit missed locations, as long as you have not already been there.
These locations are where random battle maps await you, complete with many monsters, and interesting Environmental Effects to keep you on your toes. Thankfully, these Environmental Effects work on your enemies as well!
I have seen Water and mud that slow, Bear and spike traps to spike and snare, flame and gas traps to gas and burn you up, explosive enemies and barrels, and more!
So outsmart your enemies, and trick them into the traps and drifting gas to help even the odds!
Meta Progression is planned for the full game as well, in the form of Soul Orbs acquired through defeating enemies in game, adding a bit of power and options for further playthroughs.
