This is gameplay for the PS3 version of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty.

This game got murdered in the reviews, and though I'm still early in the game, I don't understand the low scores for the game. Yes, it is flawed for sure, but not the 4/10 or 5/10 average it received in the reviews flawed. Maybe there are some unforgivable glitches later on in the game, I don't know as of yet.

Turning Point comes from Spark Interactive who previously developed Call of Duty: Finest hour on the PS2/GC/Xbox. The game actually feels a lot like Finest hour, and has some similar flaws to Finest hour, mostly, the inaccurate aiming system. It's control scheme also takes time to get used to, especially if you are used to the CoD controls.

The developers also put in a design choice that is one of my pet-peeves in FPS games, when you give me a semi-automatic gun like the M1 garand, but you won't let me fire it as fast as my finger can pull the rigger, that annoys me quite a bit. However, TP isn't the only game that does this. Killzone and Halo have also been guilty of this.

The game also has some glitches. Framerate problems occasionally pop up, and the freeze loading takes some getting used to. On the PS3 version, I have also had the game freeze my PS3 up completely twice when I hit the PS button, but that may just be a problem in this particular version. The game could also use a traditional buttstroke, because the grab system icon doesn't always show up when you want it to. The graphics are also not the prettiest, but I don't care about graphics myself.

That being said, overall, the game is still a decent game. Overall, if I believed in ratings systems, so far, I'd give it a "C" for being average, but certainly not terrible. There are some good ideas in the game, like the ability to grab an enemy, and use them as cover against enemy fire, the ability to climb up and across certain platforms, a cool story premise, and it does a decent job in the epic feel it's trying to attain. The enemy A.I. isn't the greatest overall, but they do give you a run for your money, and are too damn good with grenades.

Overall, though I haven't finished the full game yet, so far I see it as a flawed, but still decent FPS game. It feels like an unofficial sequel to Call of Duty Finest Hour, and the game is quite literally under $3 at gamestop. It won't redefine anything, but it's still a good $3 purchase.

I mean, watch the footage, and tell me this game is a 4/10 game. A 4/10 game is something, in my opinion, that is completely broken, and unplayable, but that's just me I guess.
