This is a video of me showing the proper way to play Nascar 98 on the PS1. I'm playing on a PS2 with texture smoothing on.

It's called paintball mode, and turbo mode. For Turbo Mode, go into the options menu, and while holding circle, hit up, left, down, right.

For Paintball mode, pause the game mid race, and go into the race statistics screen, and hit L1+L2+R1+R2 at the same time.

This was actually the very first racing game I ever owned on the PS1. I've played it the legitimate way many times, but I've probably wasted more time in it, goofing around with paintball mode on. It's especially fun if you turn on the option where crashes take you out of the race, and then create a pileup of your competitors.

It is just one of a million Nascar games, but as my first polygonal racing game, I still have good memories of this one.
