At last, here's a video introducing you to the Model Editor, and what you can do with it. I do not show how to actually make the model itself, as that is a completely different process. If you want to know what software to use, I recommend Maya 2011 (with openCOLLADA as the exporter). Supposedly you can use Blender, but I have never gotten it to work.
