There are some tutorials available, but for those who want more freedom and more customization here is the way to set it up from a clean forge installation.

This tutorial will guide you in setting up a forge server on your own computer and then add mods and even convert it to the latest Build The Earth server so you can accept builders on your terms and pc.
Furthermore it will tell you about mods, port forwarding, texture packs, shaders and batch files.

1) Downloading Forge
- VERSION: forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal

2) Installing the Forge server
- COMMAND: java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar nogui --installServer

3) Running the Forge server and assigning memory limits
- COMMAND: java -Xmx4024M -Xms4024M -jar forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal.jar nogui

NOTICE: If you try to run the command and get the following error: “Could not reserve enough space for object heap”, then you most likely have JAVA 32-bit which only can handle 1000M. Install the 64-bit version, example from: https://www.filepuma.com/download/java_runtime_environment_64bit_8.0.2110.12-22042/
CAUTION: You MUST delete the existing 32-bit version as well.
Then restart Powershell or CMD and run the command again.
