I'm slightly more gifted as a pattern guy because it is something I've had since I was a baby due to being on the Autism Spectrum. That being said, chess is a positional game, and if I don't get good at positional thinking, I'm never going to move beyond a club player. So in this three pawns endgame, let's explore the solution from two angles, starting from an angle I'm not too well versed in, and ending in my unique way of seeing things that help me memorize. We'll take the opportunity to look at backward pawns, clearance, and other positional ideas. Let me know which way of thinking you like and if you have other ways of synthesizing and seeing this!
