0:34 She is Rosina. She is 14 years old of a sex worker. She says, "I came from a broken family. I had never seen my parents together. My aunt took my guardianship while my mother and father refused to take me with them. My aunt was a paralyzed lady who could barely move from her bed. Soon I realized, I was there because they need someone as a maid girl. I had to sleep in the floor and ate my aunt's leftover food. As soon as I turned ten, I started experiencing something that is difficult to talk about. My uncle was a fifty years old man, I wasn't sure for his affectionate behavior. He used to bring chocolate for me. I had to seat in his lap as he told everyone that I am his daughter. He used to abuse his daughter everywhere, in kitchen, in his bedroom floor and in toilet. When I tried to scream he used to hold my mouth. Three years I tried to tell this to my aunt and asked for help. She only asked me to shut up! One day my uncle brought a woman in their house and by pointing at me asked to take away. I thought this is a woman, she could save me from this hell. Without any word I left their house, my aunt didn't say a word, when I was leaving, she was in prayer. I slept whole time of our journey. The woman was the only caring person I have seen in my thirteen years of life. The next day when I wake up in her room, she introduced me to everyone as her daughter. And she told me this is a brothel and she wanted her daughter to perform best. Yes, I am a daughter to everyone still now. Do you want me to be your daughter too?" In Bangladesh, child prostitutes are known to take the drug Oradexon, an over-the-counter steroid, usually used by farmers to fatten cattle, to make child prostitutes look larger and older. Charities say that 90% of prostitutes in the country's legalized brothels use the drug. According to social activists, the steroid can cause diabetes, high blood pressure and is highly addictive.
