Two-Year Channel Update: Q&A Part 3!
Finally, the thrilling conclusion to our epic 3-part Q&A saga! I decided to try something new and film outside, which didn't turn out nearly as relaxing as I had hoped because I spoke way too loud and fast. Live and learn, I suppose. The latter part of the video, which I film inside, is probably much more relaxing. Anyway, thanks one last time to everybody for asking so many awesome questions, and thanks for being patient while I answered them all!
----- What's ASMR, and why am I speaking so softly? -----
I whisper or speak softly in my videos because they're intended to trigger a sensation known as ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). ASMR is a very specific feeling that some people experience when they hear certain soft sounds, like whispering and tapping, or see certain visuals, like deliberate hand motions. It's often described as a pleasant tingling in the head and neck, accompanied by a sense of calmness and mild euphoria. Many people watch ASMR videos to help them relax or fall asleep. To learn more about ASMR, I recommend checking out http://asmruniversity.com/about-2/about-asmr. Happy tingles!
