Tyrian - Weird Datacubes + "Squadron" bonus game
Special video. I show some of the weird Datacubes you can read in Episode 4. Well, right from Episode 1, playing the Full Game means you'll stumble across many Datacubes that MAKE NO EFFIN' SENSE. Some are actual advertisements for other games by XSIV or Eclipse, some are false advertisements in Tyrian's fictional universe. Episode 4 has the weirdest Datacubes of the game, as shown in the video.
Then the video shows the Squadron bonus game. You get it at the end of Episode 4, if you finish it with any ship other than the Stalker 21.126. If you do have the Stalker 21.126, you'll get to play Timewar instead. Getting the Stalker is only possible by defeating the boss in the ?Tunnel? level within the time limit, then buying it in the intermission screen.
Squadron is basically another "Ale"-like level. It's pretty cool, but both Ale and Timewar are more epic IMO.
Oh, and the story behind the Squadron level is the OFFICIAL, canon story of the game. The events actually happen (and the events of Timewar are non-canon, thus don't happen in the official story). However, as soon as you start Episode 5, the story retcons (changes) Episode 4's ending and makes you continue the game. I should've shown the first Datacube of Episode 5 ; it would've made things clearer.
Good thing, as what Trent was trying to do was nothing more than the stupidest mistake he'll ever do.
Our planet sucks.
