UE5 Jail System Tutorial: UI & Inventory removal in Unreal Engine 5, Part 6
In this part of the Jail Escape series, I focus on making the player truly feel trapped. First, I remove UI elements they can’t use, like the minimap. Then, I take their entire inventory and place it in a chest they have to locate to retrieve their gear. This adds an extra layer of challenge and immersion to the escape!
This system is built in Unreal Engine 5 and can be adapted for any game needing restricted UI states and item storage mechanics. Stick around for future parts where I expand on this system!
