UI, User flow, and User Experience Design | Valeriy ORLOV
Many fun, compelling game mechanics are hidden behind poorly designed user interface, cryptic user messaging, sloppy, awkward interface flow, and insufficiently defined visual style. While this is damaging in a downloadable PC game, it is utterly fatal in a more complicated game experience, such as an ongoing social or mobile-social experience. Diving into the reasons behind this outcome, uncovers a complex web of inter-related problems to address. Listen to Valery Orlov, Director of Valart Studio and veteran of dozens of different projects across a variety of developers and platforms, talk about how under defined production process, incomplete visual style development, poorly understood UI flow, and lack of attention to user education can turn an otherwise stellar game into an incomprehensible mess from a player's perspective.
In this presentation we'll look at a novel way to gain valuable intelligence on your existing users. An explanation of this data-mining technique will be presented along with a real world example showing how this technique has been used to lower customer acquisition costs.
