Zweiter Teil der Ultima Serie, 1982 von Richard Garriott alias Lord British entwickelt und von Sierra On-Line vertrieben. Die IBM-Version ist das erste Ultima Rollenspiel, welches für MS-DOS erschienen ist (Ultima I für den IBM-PC ist ein Remake der Apple II Version, welche erst 1986 für IBM PC´s erschien). Im Vergleich mit dem Vorgänger hat sich nur wenig geändert: Man kann nun nicht nur durchs All fliegen, sondern auch auf Planeten landen und diese erkunden, Ultima II spielt nun in 5 Zeitalter (Pangäa 9.000.000 v chr., 1423 v. Chr., 1990 n. Chr, 2112 n. Chr. und Time of Legends, welches ein alternatives und extradimensionales Zeitalter darstellt) und es gibt nun auch Türme, die von unten nach oben erkundet werden.
