Some NPCs just follow you water, but what happens when you build a bridge, lead the non-swimming NPC there, and then removes the bridge?

Seems like it gets stuck in the air, moving only around its axis. The same happened with a nearby giant spider when it walked past a cliff on some bones and then I removed said bones. It also seems, they behave like they were on land and attack when the Avatar (or in a charmed state, an enemy) gets close.
In both cases, the NPC eventually regains fooding and continues its firm land life. I wonder if it's because the coast (in case of the spider, the cliff) was too close.

I had a lot of trouble leading the rat onto this small, bad bridge. Actually, I even gave up and only played around after a while, when the rat finally climbed up on the _side_ of the "bridge".


After uploading the last unused map I wanted, I kept experimenting, but this is the first day that I found something that was remotely interesting enough for a video.
I'm sure there's much more in this game and of course we have (I hope we will have) the speedrun-helping glitches that haven't been found yet.
