Welcome to Game Hacking 102, the second video in the GHS Hacking Series!

In this video, we take our first look at how to use Cheat Engine to hack games (if you don’t have Cheat Engine, we recommend watching GH101 first – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj7kmxyCPp8)

We’ve chosen a simple game to hack – Final Fantasy X, and we show how to easily hack the MONEY and HP in the game.

Keep in mind that not every game works the same, and we specifically chose FFX for this video because it’s easy to hack (we choose more difficult games later as the series progresses) so things might not work exactly the same way as you in the video if you’re trying on a different game.
For this reason, we recommend you practice either on the game shown, or you can download one of the following FREE games to practice on:

In the video, we cover the following topics:
1. How to attach Cheat Engine to a game / process
2. How to use the Cheat Engine scanning tool to find the address that controls the value of money and HP. (Note: that in the game, we can see the money and HP on the screen and they’re both 4 byte integers, so we can leave the Cheat Engine scan settings as the default while scanning.)
3. How to add addresses to the Address List and change the value of money and HP to whatever you want using Cheat Engine
4. How to organize entries in the address list by changing the description of entries
5. How to “freeze” values in the game using Cheat Engine as well as how to allow values in the game to increase but never decrease (and vice versa)
