Ultra Street Fighter IV - Arcade with Akuma
15It was on this day a decade ago that the PC version of 'Ultra Street Fighter IV' saw release.
For those who don't know, players can go up against one of several secret bosses in this game's arcade mode. However, the stipulations for reaching any of those boss characters are rather stringent. In this case, I managed to reach (and beat) the ultimate secret boss of this game: Oni, AKA Akuma/Gouki if he ascended beyond Shin levels of power. (In saying that, though, I had to play through this game on the easiest difficulty in order to achieve the strict requirements for fighting Oni at the end.) Now I'm not sure what happened during the ending cutscene that forced it to lag for a bit, but for all I know, it could very well be the case that Akuma/Gouki is so powerful he can transcend the video game medium and affect my PC's performance somehow.
So yeah, this game feels way different from 'Street Fighter 6' (and 'Street Fighter V' for that matter) in so many different ways. Also, successfully pulling off a Raging Demon in any game, let alone this one, never gets old for me personally.
