Unbelievable Developments on the Rewind Project - Rewind Continues
62We have some unbelievable developments on the Rewind Project and yes we know its been a long time between drinks for this project. However, Nick is starting to make progress on this fully custom Panel Van rebuild after it caught fire.
There has been a lot of planning, back and forth over the counter lever suspension, however, they believe they have it finally in the right spot. The counter lever suspension with the coil over shocks, along with the Jaguar front end took a long time to be place correctly into the Holden Panel Van. However, Nic believes once its done, there will not be another Panel Van like it on the road. He said he want to go full custom and he believes he may have bitten off more than he can chew, so he is chewing like mad to get it done.
They had to move the engine back about 10cm to allow clearance to the motor and the power steering box. It has all been fitted and tried out to ensure its functionality in the Panel Van.
Now they are working on the VF Ute undercarriage and fire wall, that will be placed in the in the Panel Van to accommodate the VF Interior and Dash. They are currently repairing a damage section in the VF shell and then they will separate layers of the tunnel. they will still have a lot of measuring, trail and error to get it right.
Once this has been install the body will come off the Chassis, Nic will clean up the chassis and get it all painted. While Neil will continue getting all the body prepared for prime and paint.
We will be catching with Nic again in months time, by then the VF Undercarriage should be installed. However, they have the engineer coming out this week to review the Rewind Project to ensure its good to go moving forward.
