An arcade style first person shooter that's so bad it's good was shunned by almost every critic except maybe one. Does it completely suck or is it maybe worth checking out? Is it a 3 / 10 like IGN says.? Or... is it UNDER RATED?
Get ready to take out America's top 10 most wanted criminals as Johnny Cage wanna-be, Jake Seaver. Crash land in Afghanistan during his days as a Navy Seal as you try to avoid capture from behind enemy lines. Flash forward to present day as you travel the globe tracking down and beating the ever living crap out of bad guys. Rescue hot babes that seemingly appear out of nowhere while listening to one of the most underrated gaming soundtracks of all time. And last but not least - locate Osama Bin Laden and challenge him to a one on one MMA match!
This game is a crazy mix of Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat, and Team America - World Police. While it's true it doesn't excel at being any of those things, it is unintentionally hilarious and fun. An impressive assortment of weapons is at your disposal to blow away literal armies of bad guys including homing grenades and sniper rifles with 8 times zoom. Once you capture a criminal it's time to go mano a mano and duke it out in button mashing glory. Prepare to laugh as your main character constantly cracks some of the worst and cringiest one liners of all time.
Freestyle battle rapper Mr Re does an amazing job with the main theme song which is one of the most awesome and coolest rap songs in video game history. Lyric A Rhyme by Tippia Irie is an amazing reggae song that will have you singing along in no time. There are so many good songs that I can't mention them all and can't even show them due to copyright. I'll drop a link in the description for you to check them out!
Looking for a game that bleeds red white and blue and features the voices of real United States Marines? Well grab the American flag power up then and go on a killing spree rampage with 45 seconds of invulnerability. Tired of those shooters where if you die you have to restart the entire level from the beginning? Death is a minor inconvenience for this American soldier! Respawning immediately upon death allows you to stay in the fight longer if you have some extra lives of course. Last but not least, take on the one guy deemed too controversial for most games, Osama Bin Laden!
Some levels feature a near infinite supply of enemies that can cause some extreme difficulty spikes even on easy mode. This can cause some serious frustration especially in the final levels. Luckily you can collect and store a lot of health packs to use in near death situations. If you are still having a tough time, I recommend abusing the hell out of the auto aim feature in this game. While maybe considered cheating by some, it saved my ass numerous times and gives you the upper hand when surrounded by dozens of enemies.
Many critics felt the game was too vulgar, in bad taste, and filled with racial stereotypes. IGN states the game is only recommended if you have a quote "deep down urge to kill a lot of people wearing turbans". If you get triggered easily, this game simply isn't for you. I didn't agree with any of these takes since the entire game is so over the top and silly. None of the most wanted criminals in the game are real life people except for Osama Bin Laden of course and Saddam Hussein if you have the European version. If the game is getting too real, you can turn off the blood in the option menu. Oh yeah some critics seemed offended that you can rescue hot babes with no real story explanation.
A budget price of $29.99 didn't seem to matter to most critics as they wanted multiplayer and a much longer main campaign. Some stated that there was no replay value and while that's true, the game does come with a pretty substantial amount of bonus features. Motion capture sessions, tv commercials, freestyle rap videos, and a very well done behind the scenes director commentary are well worth checking out!
