In this episode, after narrowly escaping our first encounter with Undyne, we continue exploring east, and run, yet again, into Sans. He generously allows us to gaze through his telescope, but all we can see is red. When we turn around, we realize he's pranked us again, and that we've acquired a red ring around our eye. We then navigate a maze-like area filled with Echo Flowers, finding a new weapon: a pair of Ballet Shoes hidden in some grass. Further into the maze, we receive a call from Papyrus, who indirectly informs us that the friend asking questions about our appearance is none other than Undyne, and that he assumed we were crafty enough to change our appearance as he described it to her. Unfortunately for us, all of our outfits lie in the Box, so we continue dressed in our Dusty Tutu. As we travel down a long passageway, we encounter Onionsan, a lonely creature who tells us that all his friends have gone to live in an aquarium. The water seems to be drying up, so he has to sit all the time, but he is confident that Undyne will solve his problems for him. Unsure what to make of this, we continue further into the waterfall area, encountering a mysterious piano. After shielding a nearby statue from the rain with an umbrella, the solution to the puzzle becomes clear, and we play the song from the music box inside the statue on the piano. Unfortunately, the Legendary Artifact cannot be picked up because we are "carrying too many dogs." An annoying dog has found his way into our inventory, and when we set him down, he absorbs the artifact and takes off, leaving us empty handed, save for some Dog Residue. We then go for a stroll through the rain with Undyne's biggest fan, who helps us climb a steep precipice. Further along, we are spotted by Undyne yet again, and flee through a maze, avoiding her magical spears all the while. Coming to a dead end, Undyne slices the platform in half, and sends us plummeting to parts unknown below.

Barely conscious, we hear the words of a mysterious caretaker, but manage to miss their name. When we fully awaken, we find ourselves in a sort of garbage dump below the waterfall area. As we traverse the polluted water, we come upon a training dummy just like the one Toriel taught us to fight. We give it a punch, not thinking anything of it, but the dummy springs to life! Understandably upset by our behavior, the dummy explains that it is inhabited by a ghost, and blocks the way. A battle ensues, and we quickly realize it can only be won by turning the dummy's minions attack back on it. After a challenging combat sequence, the battle is disrupted by a shy ghost, who invites us to come with it back to its house. Our curiosity gets the better of us, and we follow the ghost towards his domicile.
