Undertale Blind Let's Play (#8) - Knight In Shining Armor
3In this episode we take Napstablook up on his offer to hang out at his place, but he seems surprised to see us. After listening to some of his CDs, we attempt to take a bite of a ghost sandwich, but phase right through it. Napstablook suggests we lie down and feel like garbage for awhile, and we gladly join him, eventually witnessing a vision of the universe. While exploring the rest of the nearby area, we engage in a few snail races, and find a shop, where the owner fills us in on the prophecy of the Angel, one who is said to either be a liberator or a destroyer. After purchasing some equipment, we explore further east, eventually coming upon a dark maze that can be illuminated by mushroom-powered crystals. Beyond the maze, we arrive in another dark passageway, and find a single Echo Flower that says "Behind you." Dreading what we might see, we turn around and are faced with none other than Undyne, who has a shocking revelation: the King of Monsters true name is Asgore Dreemurr! Asgore's plan is to acquire seven human souls to give him the ability to smash the barrier between the monster and human worlds. Undyne offers us a choice: either give up our soul or she will tear it from our body, and prepares to attack, but is interrupted by the friendly monster kid. She drags him off, and we continue our progress through another Echo Flower filled passage, finally discovering the nature of wish they have been mentioning all along: simply to see the world above. As we cross a precarious bridge, the monster kid appears again, having finally realized that we are a human, and by rights should be enemies. He tries to insult us to cement our new, antagonistic relationship, but immediately regrets it, and in his haste to retreat stumbles and falls, clinging dangerously to the side of the bridge. At this moment Undyne appears again, and we rush to his aid, managing to pull him back from the brink. Monster kid turns to Undyne and defends us, saying she'll have to go through him first. Unwilling to do this, Undyne retreats, and monster kid decides to be our friend despite the fact that we are human. The kid decides to head home, and we explore further east, coming upon a cavernous entrance that seems to lead to the monster kingdom. High above, Undyne is waiting for us, and after threatening us yet again with Asgore's plan, attacks as we try to head inside. A climactic battle ensues, and despite our best intentions, Undyne the Undying falls in battle to our attacks. Shortly after the battle, Papyrus calls, heartbreakingly saying we should hang out with him and Undyne sometime. Our adventure leads us to Hotland, a mountainous region where lava flows abound, and we spot a nearby laboratory we are determined to investigate.
