DM Notes: My idea for this adventure was, "what if it starts with the final boss battle and then the rest of the adventure happens after that?" So I threw the dracolich at the party immediately. What I did not expect was that the party would chump the poor thing at long range, nor did I realize that the NPC I introduced just in the last session would do a big part of the chumping. If I didn't know any better, I'd have assumed the DM was showing off. Fortunately, I managed to fit a much tenser dragon fight into the latter half of the adventure.
