UNFRIENDLY Precious Metals Ordinance!
In September, 2011 my local government passed a precious metals ordinance effectively restricting the free market/trade of all coins and bullion made from silver, gold, platinum and palladium. Problem is, despite fierce testimony against the ordinance, and with little more than brief testimony from the Chief of Police, the city of Meridian, Idaho effectively shut down all of the "mom & pop" coin shops in the city limits due to the restrictive nature, language and penalties associated with the ordinance.
This is an example of governmental overreach in its ugliest form - the passage of a law contrary to the will of the people and with no foundational basis in reality.
Does your local government have anything like this?
