Did those enemies have shields? Oh, yes they did. Enemies with shields start appearing here. Those enemies are more difficult to kill from the front so if you're daring enough to attack them from the back, they'll die a lot faster than normal.

I love this game for a couple reason and one of the reasons is that the boss fights are fast-paced. They don't take a long time since you can use your barrier and smash everyone in the face. The game even has a timer counting how long it takes to beat each spellcard and how long you take to beat the boss. If you noticed, the stages are pretty short as well as the boss fight. Most of the video was listening to Reimu and Patchouli talk!
