Buto is a volumetric fog and volumetric lighting system for Unity that renders volumetric fog in world space using a frustum-aligned voxel buffer.

In this example, I use Buto to render volumetric fog in a basic scene. I want to constrain the fog to a small box region, so I use an exclusive box density mask. I modify the volumetric fog noise settings between different texture types. When I change the texture type, Buto uses a shader to generate a procedural noise texture, which it writes to disk. Then, Buto uses this new texture as the noise input. When increasing the rendering octaves, Buto re-samples this texture at different positions to make the noise dynamic. I include an additional light to showcase how this volumetric fog interacts with the lighting.
