Unobtainable Passwords in Mega Man (Sega Game Gear) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs
762In the Sega Game Gear version of Mega Man, after you defeat the initial four bosses from the stage select screen, the game will no longer provide passwords for you as you progress through Dr. Wily's castle.
However, there are still passwords you can input to start at certain sections of Dr. Wily's fortress in normal mode.
To start with Wave Man defeated: B1, C2, D3, E2, F2
To start with Toad Man defeated: A4, B3, B5, C4, D2
To start at the final battle against Dr. Wily: B5, C2, E2, F3, F4
To reiterate, the game will never SHOW YOU these passwords, so the developers never intended for players to use these passwords. Generally in Mega Man games, you're supposed to conquer the entire Wily Fortress in one session.
However, these passwords are still programmed into the game and can be used in Normal mode, even if you were never supposed to see them!
