A DIFFICULT TO INPUT cheat code? (Gun.Smoke, NES) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs
1,097In Gun.Smoke for the NES there's a cheat code you can input on the title screen that changes the control scheme in an interesting way. It's not necessarily a CHEAT code, in fact it gives you less control over your character in my opinion. BUT the cheat code is really difficult to execute.
The title screen only lasts two to three seconds, but you have to press TWENTY-ONE inputs. On the title screen, press A, B, B, Right, Right, Right, Left, Left, Left, Left, Up, Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Down. Then press Start to begin, so that's technically 22 buttons.
Also why is it Gun.Smoke instead of Gun Smoke??
This code changes the aim controls. Instead of shooting left or right with B or A respectively, you can simply press the D-Pad left or right and shoot with B. It makes the game feel very different, but some people may prefer this control scheme.
