Unrest is a story driven RPG funded through KickStarter. It was one of the first games I backed, combining an unusual premise with the promise of native Linux support.

The game itself is built around interacting with NPCs to advance the plot using a simple point and click interface. So far I've just completed the introductory levels and no decision I've made has had an obvious effect on the story, but I like the look and general atmosphere.

As I mention in the video, getting it running on Linux was a bit of a challenge. This is mostly because the included versions of the key libraries don't seem to be compatible with Fedora's versions. To get the Steam version working:

# sudo yum install SDL2_image SDL2_mixer SDL2_ttf
# cd .local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Unrest/lib
# rm libSDL2*

This removes the shipped SDL libraries so the game uses the normal Fedora ones instead.
