le 2 février 2014, au soir, dans un chalet dans les montagnes de Blackwood Pines dans l’Alberta, une province du Canada. Joshua Washington et ses deux sœurs jumelles, Hannah et Beth, les enfants du propriétaire, passent leurs vacances d'hiver avec leurs amis Michael, Samantha, Ashley, Christopher, Jessica, Mattew et Emily. Hannah est piégée par Mike, Ashley, Emily, Jessica et Matt : elle espérait passer sa première nuit avec Mike avant d'être surprise par ses amis qui filmaient la scène en secret. Honteuse, elle fuit dans la nature. Rattrapée par Beth, elles sont poursuivies par un homme inconnu et finissent par chuter du haut d'une falaise.
