**Now demolished**

Exploring the Rideau Correctional and Treatment Center. It opened in 1947 as a minimum security farming prison. As time went on, treatment programs were put in place instead. With 354 beds, it housed mainly sex offenders and drug addicts. It closed in January of 2004 as part of an Infrastructure Renewal Program set forth by the Ontario Government at which point the inmates were transferred to a new jail in Lindsay, Ontario.

Last I heard (early 2013), it was in the process of being demolished.
