Using the Xbox's Action Replay (Cheat Saves) on Halo 2 :D
An example of how the Xbox's Action Replay works on the Original Xbox and this is when it gets a little complicated & slightly expensive.
This Action Replay does not work on modern computers like a windows 10 laptop you can load up the software but the memory card USB device which comes with the Action Replay Software disc will not be recognized.
I wasted so much time trying to get that to work then I realized months later the only way it would work is if you had a Windows XP PC or at least I hoped it would. (£64 It buffs eBay).
After setting up the software for the disc it also downloads the driver for the USB cable automatically using wizard off the disc on a Windows XP PC when on Windows 10 nothing happens even when searching manually for the drivers on the disc it finds nothing lol.
Here we go then:
First thing you do is connect your USB and your Action Replay memory card to your Pc and the light should be green showing it is working. Now open up the Action Replay software you have your Xbox game saves in the middle and your memory card saves on the left and the redundant online saves to the right.
All you do now is click on your mouse on the file/game save you want like for example Halo 2 all levels and place it on the left-hand side and it will copy the game saves to your Xbox memory card.
At this point, you would take the memory card and place it in your Xbox controller. Unfortunately, the game saves has to be transferred to your Xbox hard drive the game save cannot be read from your memory card if it can I do not know how to do that lol.
I would then go to the Xbox main menu, click a on memory, click left onto controller 1 then press a then I would press down to the Halo 2 game save.
Now the tricky part if you press a it only allows you to delete not copy lol. Instead, click right then press a and it will give you the option of copy and delete. At this point press a on copy, then a again to copy the save to your Xbox hard drive or to overwrite any current game save.
Then press b twice, press right then a on the Xbox hard drive then scroll down to example Halo 2 then press right to see your game save.
At this point, I would put my game disc in and this process will vary from game to game depending on how the game lets you load saved data. For Halo 2 its click on campaign and load your save file.
Hopefully, this helps you decide if it's worth buying :D
