The continuing adventures in the Valheim world we've have been running since Hearth and Home was released. All vanilla, no mods, survivor mode.

This is a combat video where I miss a few axe swings and then burn a gjall on the edge of the Mistlands & Black Forest. There is a bit of gathering setup at the end. Recording was made during patch 0.219.16.

A pretty short video this time. There was some combat right before this point in the day, and a bit of gathering afterward, but I figured I'd show the middle where I had an unusual encounter with a gjall.

I was on the edge of the Mistlands & Black Forest, gathering some yggdrasil wood that had fallen after taking down a seeker solider. My axe missed a few swings on the greydwarf that was bothering me, and when I finally connected, a gjall came through the mists into the woods.

Quickly retreating, I pulled out my Staff of Embers and missed a few shots as I lost sight of the gjall. I was able to pick out the tentacles, dangling in the fog and connected with a fireball.

There was another greydwarf that kept pestering me, and needed to be ended, but that meant that I really lost sight of the gjall as it wandered back into the Mistlands.

With the greydwarf dispatched, I ran towards where I had seen the gjall and climbed up the rocks, trying to high ground for a better view.

Thankfully, I was able to sneak up on the gjall a bit, and let a volley of fireballs blast it. Most of the shots hit and I was able to switch to Storm Ripper for a shot before needing to take cover behind some rocks. I then was able to fire off a final couple of spells to take down the gjall and go back to mining.

At my newly marked ancient armor, I used my newly acquired yggdrasil wood to make some wisp torches around the helm.

You'll have to watch the full session to see me gather the helm, it was a bit of a stubborn one to pop.

I'm getting closet to having all of the ore that I need to make my shields. I'll have to start thinking about where they are going to go in the Village...
