Do you ever get this weird feeling when I'm ranting about custom maps on Twitter (let's just hypothetically assume that some people read that) that I pretend to know what I'm talking about? Well, that's because of stuff like this, as back in the day I actually have worked on some moderately-sized maps (along with a couple of "normal" games too)! :D This one in particular is called "Valley of Sorrows" and was developed by me during Modjam 4, a 96-hour Minecraft modding and mapmaking competition in May 2014.

Unfortunately the original idea turned out to be a lot too grandiose for the mere 13-14 hours I ended up spending on it (oh do I pity my high school self ...), so I just managed to finish the terrain and one puzzle, which qualifies as a Minecraft custom map IMO, though barely. On the positive side, due to the questionable voting system (you could only vote for a particular map in one category or something), I did receive win the "Best Aesthetics" category, which I'm still a bit happy about. :)

Finally, even though I still think the map concept is good, I haven't worked in it since Modjam. Sadly I don't know if I ever will.
