Valorant Closed Beta: Team Datto vs. Team Mr. Fruit ft. Mtashed
3,884Valorant is Riot's new project. It is a first-person shooter. It is as if you took Counter Strike and your choice of hero shooter and combined them into one. That's the deal and Valorant sticks to that pretty close, if not exactly on the money.

People seem to be either really about this game, very interested, or think that it's the dumbest thing they've ever seen. To me, Valorant has set out to do what I believe they wanted to do and they're not really trying to be anything else. It is a very different style of shooter compared to what you may be used to, unless what you're used to is Counter Strike, in which case, it's not very different. Shooting isn't the only thing either, learning maps and what characters are capable of are basically just as important. Positioning matters a LOT, so learning the maps first is the best thing you can do for yourself. Even with shooting, you need to learn spray patterns and how bloom will work, adjusting recoil, etc. Time to kill is lightning quick though, so being fast on the trigger is vital, especially when a lot of guns can kill in a single headshot.
The premise is simple: 5v5, 1 team tries to plant the spike (bomb), 1 team needs to defend against it. First to 13 (as of the beta) wins.
My thoughts on the game are: I'm really bad at this game. As I said in the video, I've never played CS:GO outside of a few rounds of Gun Game, so I'm still learning the maps, the guns, the spray patterns, the abilities and more. It is a far departure from what I've been used to doing in a shooter. I'm having to play much more patiently than I'm used to, I'm having to break a lot of regular habits while playing this game specifically. It is a hard game to play. I don't anticipate myself investing a ton of time into the game just because it's not really the type of game I think I'd ever be good at, but I have been enjoying playing with a full team of friends.
This was a slightly above average game for me, although I think half of my kills come in 3 rounds. I'm still working on basically all facets of my game.
