The Index Controller RMA was relatively straightforward with just some simple checks I needed to do on my end. Support was quick to respond and to be honest this has been the simplest RMA I've had to deal with.

As of yet I haven't had a significant chance to use the new controller but I will update if the same drift issue persists.
