Finally after a lot of waiting, Valve’s Index, their new next gen VR headset is announced. This new generation of headset fixes a lot of the problems that older VR headsets have suffered. To start, the new controllers are a lot more comfortable and feel very natural in the hand, each controller makes use of 87 sensors so that they can translate real world movements accurately into the virtual world. The screen resolution sits at an insane 1440x1600 per eye, which is far higher than the Vive at a measly 1080x1200 per eye. The Index also has a standard refresh rate of 120hz and also offers an experimental 144hz option. Above all that though, they have increased the field of view by 20 degrees over the Vive, as well as allow each user to move the individual lenses to wherever is move comfortable for them.
