100% playthrough of Vanguard for Doom 2, MAP11: Temple of Asmodeus on Ultra Violence difficulty with Fast Monsters enabled (UV-Fast). I pistol start each map, going for 100% Kills & Secrets, with no saves, while doing live commentary during the run.

Notes: The hardest fights in the wad are right here folks. Make no mistake the final battle of this level with fast monsters is a force to be reckoned with. Let me correct the video and say that I had a practice save at the start of the blue key fight, and I probably practiced it over 300 times (I said 100 in the vid) and my success rate for the fight was less then 50%. This map drilled home the importance of practice for me and the final fight in particular helped me learn to focus on the micro details of the fight, rather than just overall strategy for beating it. Things like developing a way to dissipate the revenant homing missiles and managing health and armor pickups are what make or break this fight.

This is my first completion of what I am coining a Texas Hold'em style map. Where the fights are sort of big set-pieces and the stakes each time get progressively higher, as you gamble not with money, but your time, until the map-maker finally forces you to go all-in on the river in an out-and-out slugfest. The defeats are soul crushing, the adrenaline is high, but the victory is as sweet as anything you'll experience in Doom, and with the maximum wager on this map being about 10 to 12 minutes, I highly recommend you give this one a shot.
