The power supply was installed in a pre-built PC that I bought new 12 years ago. During those 12 years, I used the PC relatively frequently. The power supply worked for most of that time without any problems that I noticed. Two weeks ago, however, it started producing various loud noises. This video contains recordings of various of these noises that I recorded on my smartphone. I usually held the smartphone microphone to the power supply opening on the back of the PC. The side panel of the PC was still attached. The FSP Group power supply shown in the photo in the video is the power supply that was installed in my PC.

To my positive interpretation, the power supply apparently supplied all the power my PC required even during noise generation, because the PC continued to function without any problems that I noticed.

In the past few weeks, there have also been occasional odors that I suspected were coming from my PC. These were odors that seemed to me to be possibly caused by smoldering electronic components. Since I didn't see any burnt electronic components on the motherboard of my PC, these odors could also have been caused by components in the power supply.

My positive interpretation is that the power supply didn't catch fire or explode.

This power supply also occasionally made noises in previous years. Therefore, a few years ago, I bought a new Enermax NAXN 500W (ENP500AGT) power supply as a replacement. However, because the FSP Group power supply had always stopped making noises relatively quickly, I hadn't attempted to replace it. However, the noises it had made in the past were significantly quieter.

Because the FSP Group power supply was making significantly louder noises this time than in the past and didn't stop even after about five days, I decided, after making the necessary preparations, to attempt to replace it. This replacement worked without any major issues, and the new power supply worked immediately without any noticeable problems, and the PC also worked again without any noticeable issues. Even after several days, I haven't noticed any problems with the new power supply.

After the replacement, I carefully packed the removed FSP Group power supply in the new power supply's packaging and stored it here in my apartment. I haven't yet decided what to do with the FSP Group power supply.
