I recently brought a i5-14600K, but Intel has paywalled a bunch of features that is trivial to have unlike AMD. Hence I am going to return it and get a AMD.
But first, the benchmarks to remind us what it is. This is a 14-core processor with 1250GFLOPS, able to replace the two old 6-core Zen 2 and 3 they decided to retire or consolidate. Or is SUPPOSED to.

Here I try to transcode the glmark test to 1440p using various codecs, they aren't particularly fast, even if VP8 is putting heavy load on all the cores. But Slackware did not have H264 x264 or H265 x265 enabled. Or any native encoders really.
