I do not need to do this now, but I am going to get some spare chips out of this Vic-20, so I have them at the ready, and I can also test them in the PET, to ensure that they work...but first, they must be released from the board...which means de-soldering, and then checking, double checking, and prying with great care to release the integrated circuit that has been resting in the same board for 45 or so years!
