Virtua Cop (PC) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Sega's 1996 rail shooter arcade port for computers running Windows 95, Virtua Cop.
Played on the normal difficulty level. True end boss shown.
You really just can't go wrong with Sega's arcade light-gun rail shooters. They all looked and sounded great, and they tend to still hold up today. Virtua Cop is a great example of this - even though it's now over twenty years old (the original arcade game is from 1994), it still feels fresh, and the fast pace and challenge still keeps it fun for repeat plays.
This is the Windows 95 version, and unlike my video of its other PC release (Virtua Squad), this is obviously not playing on original hardware. I'm running the game's software renderer at 640x480x16 bit color (no enhancements - the game is being played from the original disc), but no PC hardware could pull this off at 60fps back in the day (again, check out my other VC video - that was captured from a 1998 Dell P200MMX desktop machine, and it just was just about able maintain 30fps at half the resolution!). The character models aren't quite as detailed as they are in the arcade version, but this version on a newer PC i's SO much smoother and more fluid! It's just as smooth as the upgraded Virtua Cop Elite for PS2, but without the upgraded assets. Well worth a play if you are into the genre, for sure.
