Virtua Racing Game Sample - Genesis/MD
Virtua Racing was, for its time, an impressive but simple 3D display on the Sega Genesis and uses polygons like some of the SNES 3D titles with the SFX chip. Virtua Racing used expensive technology and a special "SVP" micro chip to make "high quality" 3D graphics that ran at a crisp framerate, but it was not the first Genesis/MD title to use polygons (the best example would be Star Cruiser, which did this and didn't even require the SVP chip, just stock Genesis/MD hardware).
The game features three stages (Beginner, Medium and Expert) with fifteen other cars, four changeable camera angles, 2-Player head-to-head split screen racing, the option to race against the clock, automatic or seven speed manual transmission, and various options to optimize your experience. A superior version would shortly be made for the ill-fated 32X add-on (Virtua Racing Deluxe) with better graphics, sound, and additional features.
This is a video of one of the tracks. Enjoy.
